Made Manifest + Mount Vernon City School District (via LHRIC)
Made Manifest recently partnered with the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC) to launch a Live Translation and Digital Tools pilot in the Mount Vernon City School District—and the results have been powerful.
Over the course of the pilot, 35 teachers and more than 100 students received hands-on training in using live translation tools to support instruction, access, and communication in multilingual classrooms. These weren’t just tech demos—they were integrated learning experiences that showed teachers how to make translation tools part of everyday teaching.
The impact was immediate.
Teachers reported that students who had previously struggled to engage were now able to follow lessons more closely, contribute to class discussions, and demonstrate what they actually understood. For families, communication became smoother, more inclusive, and more frequent.
One of the most powerful reflections came from Rita C., a 5th grade teacher and participant in the pilot:
"He is a whole new student. I'm able to really see how much he knows and where he struggles the most. It has been an absolute blessing.”
This is what’s possible when the right tools are paired with the right training. At Made Manifest, we’re committed to making language access a reality in every classroom—because when students are understood, they thrive.
