Kicking Off the School Year at Bronx Science

What an incredible way to start the school year! On September 2nd, I had the privilege of presenting a keynote at the Bronx High School of Science alongside 17-year-old student speaker Nathan Goldberg. Together, we spoke to a full room of amazing teachers about a question that’s on everyone’s mind: AI is here—now what?

Sharing What’s Already Possible

We highlighted the powerful tools that are already available to NYC Public Schools, including:

  • Gemini in Google Classroom

  • NotebookLM

  • Copilot

  • SchoolAI

These are not “future” technologies—they’re here now, and teachers can start using them right away to support learning, planning, and differentiation.

A Student’s Perspective

Nathan brought an essential voice into the room. Teachers had the chance to hear directly from a student about how AI shows up in his life, what feels exciting, and where the challenges are. The Q&A that followed was one of the best parts of the day—authentic, thoughtful, and future-focused.

Feedback from Bronx Science

After the keynote, Bronx Science Assistant Principal Colin Morrell wrote:

“Great job today. You and Nathan did an amazing job introducing the faculty to the resources available to them and engaging them in the continued discussion about AI in the classroom.”

Looking Ahead

The energy in that room made it clear: Bronx Science teachers are ready to experiment, question, and explore how AI can support learning while keeping critical thinking and creativity front and center.

At Made Manifest, this is what we do best—partnering with schools to make sense of the tools they already have and to use AI in ways that are ethical, practical, and inspiring.
